Join us for a weeklong documentary film program that offers comprehensive instruction on the basics of filmmaking. Over the course of the week students will learn to storyboard, shoot, and edit a short film. The goal is to take students from a simple interest in the craft to the successful completion of a fully developed short documentary by the end of the course and to show their films on the big screen at the Holiday Theater! No prior experience is needed and all the equipment is provided. The workshop runs from 9:30AM - 4:30PM everyday and is intended for 15-18 year olds.Limited scholarship availability. His work spans documentary, narrative, and experimental forms, often shaped by improvisation and minimal resources. Fermin has collaborated with social justice leaders, Indigenous artists, and foundations across the U.S., with work featured on the cover of National Geographic - all rooted in a deep care for identity, community, and connection.Jill Coats is a commercial and narrative director located in Denver, Colorado. Her work beautifully blends nostalgia with joy, as she strives to evoke a dynamic sense of happiness and playfulness in her films. She has worked with many brands like Pfizer, Spyder, tourism ads, and many more. Her specialty comes in the form of writing and leading. She started off her filmmaking journey in videography, which utilized many documentary techniques.
